Pooja Mor, India
The Indian modeling star’s ascent has been swift since her debut in 2013, but her achievements pale in comparison
to the work she’s doing off duty as a supporter of Falun Gong, the Chinese spiritual practice incorporating
Buddhist and Taoist principles. “When I started modeling, I used to think if I work with these people or those
magazines, I’ve accomplished something—but once I did those things, I didn’t find the happiness I was
looking for,” says Mor, 28. “It was only when I found a cause I believed in that I began to feel content.”

Patrycja Piekarska, Poland, United Kingdom
“I was 17 when I was auditioning for drama schools in Manchester and Liverpool, and I was one of the youngest
people there,” says the Polish-born, London-based Piekarska, now 18. “I got one callback, and that was
about it—so I was like, ‘Damn, what do I do now?’ And my mom was like, ‘Well, do you not want to try modeling?’ ”

Mariam de Vinzelle, France
“I’ve never felt that I fit a mold—especially not the common ‘model’ mold,” says de Vinzelle, 22. Between seasons,
her tousled blonde hair, first seen in 2016 sailing down Louis Vuitton’s spring runway on the Place Vendôme,
is safely tucked away as she sees to decidedly different business. “The fact that I am studying to become an
engineer and spend most of my days trying to solve scientific equations and making chemical experiments—
it makes me feel apart from the norm,” says de Vinzelle, who sees modeling less as a job and “more as an artistic
hobby,” a diversion from her lab life.

K ris Grikaite, Russia, Lithuania
Grikaite’s rise to prominence was decidedly old-school. The 19-year-old Russian-Lithuanian model cut her teeth
on high-profile runways and editorials, and—having never spent much time thinking about Instagram fame or online
infamy—she became most interested in learning more about the creative process. “Modeling is a job I love, and
I approach things professionally,” she says. “Being on-set isn’t about being a diva—it’s about communicating.
When everyone is working and creating together, you have to stay grateful and grounded to keep it going.”
