The winner of an esports match had to be decided byagame ofrock-paper-

scissors, after therewereproblems with an internetconnection. Esports is the

playing of video games in organisedcompetitions. The two players, who were

competing inaprofessional tournament for the football video game FIFA20,

couldn’t set up their match because of difficulties with EA’s online system. EA is the

company that makes the FIFAgames. After trying andfailing to get the game set

up,the twodecided to ditch the technology and instead settle things withagame

of rock-paper-scissors. Does this sound likethe truth to you? Or is it rubbish?*
