Even a cursory look is enough to get a sense of the range of social and
linguistic stereotypes Disney presents to young children repeatedly. Before
the advent of the VCR, repeated viewings of Cinderella, for example, was
simply not possible. Since the technology boom, however, Disney films
can be rented or purchased and watched over and over again, so that the
messages and morals become deeply ingrained (Buescher and Ono 1996;
Edgerton and Jackson 1996; Giroux and Pollock 2010; Lacroix 2004).
