a large supernova remnant, displays the two main
segments of NGC 6992/6995 (top left) and NGC
6960 at right. At upper right is a fainter segment
known as Pickering’s Triangular Wisp.

Strong greenish bands of airglow light up the sky
over Lake Mugecuo in Sichuan, China, though they
prove no match for the brightness of spiral galaxy
M31 seen at the center of the image.
