EAMES
FIBERGLASS
ARMCHAIR
DESIGNED BY
Ray + Charles Eames,
1950
Say “Eames
chair,” and one
might think of
the leather and
plywood lounge
chair created
by husband and
wife design team
Charles and Ray
Eames in 1956. But
it’s the distinctly
more democratic
molded plastic and
fiberglass armchair
introduced six
years earlier that
ranks high on our
list. Available in a
variety of styles
and colors, the de-
sign can be found
everywhere from
conference rooms
to downtown lofts.
Another testament
to its greatness:
The chair remains
in production today.
