This weed burner is an excellent alternative to weed killer
and much better for the environment, leaving your garden
clear of weeds and remaining safe for children and pets
to play in.
The improved design features include a longer,
concentrated nozzle and a higher burning temperature
of 650°C for more precise and effective weed burning.
The narrower directive cone almost eliminates the risk of
damaging surrounding plants.
It works by transmitting bursts of thermal heat which
result in the plant cells dying from root to tip, without the

use of dangerous flames.
The ergonomic handle allows for comfortable use and
it is removable for easy storage. It has a handy built-in
retractable stand that locks into place when not in use,
allowing you to stand the weed burner off the ground
when hot and protect it from getting damaged. Measures
L114 x W18 x H8cm.

No time to run from cover

HARD-PRESSED Britons risk leaving
their loved ones unprotected by
rushing to cancel vital insurance
policies to make ends meet during the
coronavirus lockdown.
Brokers report a sharp rise in
requests to cancel over 50s plans, life
cover, medical insurance, income
protection, and accident, sickness &
unemployment insurance.
Ian Sawyer, commercial director at
insurance intermediary Assured
Futures, said: “Do not panic and

cancel a policy without considering
the consequences.”

OVER-50S COVER
Many people set up over-50s plans to
cover funeral costs or leave money for
a loved one. You do not have to take a
medical, so plans pay whatever the
reason for death, including Covid-19.
Sawyer said: “If you cancel, you lose
all cover and premiums paid so far.”

LIFE INSURANCE
If you cancel a term life insurance
policy, you will lose cover if you die

for any reason, including Covid-19.
“Your family could miss out on a
tax-free lump sum to support them
during a time of financial need,”
Sawyer added.
You also face higher premiums if
you buy a new plan later, especially if
you have been ill.

MEDICAL INSURANCE
Health insurance does not cover
emergency treatment, so
policyholders who contract the
coronavirus must use the NHS.
Plans will cover other conditions
as before, and may offer extras such
as virtual GP appointments, cash
benefits if admitted to hospital, and
mental health support.
Private medical insurance may
prove invaluable as non-emergency
NHS treatment is postponed due to
the current emergency.
By cancelling, you will lose cover
for all existing conditions even if you
take out a new policy later.

INCOME PROTECTION
If you fall ill and have to stop work,
an income protection policy will cover

your income until you are fit enough
to return, or until you retire.
Policies bought before the
pandemic should pay out for
coronavirus, but insurers are assessing
this approach for new customers.
“Income protection offers valuable
cover and families could be exposed
without it,” Sawyer said.

ASU COVER
Accident, sickness & unemployment
(ASU) pays a regular income for 12
or 24 months if you cannot work
following illness or redundancy.
Sawyer said ASU could be
invaluable now: “Retaining a policy
allows holders to keep a roof over
their heads and up to date with bills.”
Tom Conner, director at broker
Drewberry, said many insurance
policies include extras that could
prove valuable today, so check what
benefits your plans contain: “Many
offer video GP services, medical
telephone helplines staffed by trained
nurses or doctors, and remote
counselling sessions.
“This can be a big help during the
current difficult period.”
