A talented racing pigeon has sold for a record-breaking $1.
million at a recent online auction. The pricey pigeon, named
Armando, was sold by Belgian breeder, Joel Verschoot, and
organised by the website PIPA: Pigeon Paradise. According to
the website, Armando is allegedly the “best long distance pigeon
of all time” with $1.4 million being the highest ever paid for a
racing pigeon. Officials were shocked by the size of the final bid
and claimed, “this type of champion is rarely offered for sale.”
The previous record-holding pigeon representing the highest
amount purchased for, was a bird named Nadine who sold for
over $450,000 in 2017.
