- Paint away the small spot inside the handle. We’re already in
the quick mask mode, so we can paint away the small flaw on the
handle with the paintbrush tool. Press the D key to make sure
your colors are set to their default masking values of white (fore-
ground) and black (background), as shown in Figure 3-42. (Note
that this is reversed from the regular default colors.)
Then press the B key to grab the paintbrush tool. Right-click to
bring up the brush options and set the Hardness value to 100
percent. Carefully click inside the handle to remove that small
spot near the edge, but stay inside the white area. Wherever
you add white to this mask will become part of your selection.
At last, our saw is ready for its background. Press the Q key to
leave the quick mask mode.
White is the foreground color
You’ll discover, as you can see in Figure 3-41, that the blade
selection is now much crisper. In fact, the entire selection has
only one tiny flaw, which we’ll fix in the next step.
