Adobe Photoshop CS5 One-on-One

(やまだぃちぅ) #1
After cropping, you can reset your Layers panel thumbnails to reflect
the current document boundaries by right-clicking a blank section of
the Layers panel and choosing Clip Thumbnails to Document Bounds.

  1. Reposition a guide. You can move guides as needed during the
creation of your composition. Let’s move the second horizontal
guide up closer to the center. First, press the F8 key to open
the Info panel for guidance. Next, press and hold the Ctrl key
( key) and hover over the second horizontal guide. When you
get a double-arrow cursor, drag the guide upward until the Y
value in the Info panel reads 392. Then press Ctrl-R (-R) to
    hide the ruler.

  2. Simultaneously scale and duplicate the martini glass. As
you saw when you watched the video at the outset of this les-
son, layers can be moved in many ways. One particularly use-
ful trick is to move, duplicate, and scale the copy at the same
    time. Here’s how:

  • Make sure the Glass 1 layer is still selected.

  • Hold down the Alt (Option) key and choose Edit→Free
Transform. The Free Transform command allows you to
change the dimensions of your layer, and adding the Alt
(Option) key creates a duplicate in the process. You can’t
see the copy right away; you have to complete the trans-
    form operation first.
