Adobe Photoshop CS5 One-on-One

(やまだぃちぅ) #1
The Jumping Puppet layer now has a Puppet Warp entry, as you can see
in Figure 8-31. It’s accompanied by an automatically created filter mask,
which allows you to mask certain parts of your distortion. In this case,
I prefer to delete the mask (by dragging it to the trash can icon) to tidy
up. You can click the next to the Puppet Warp entry to turn on or
off the effects and get a before-and-after view. Finally, you can adjust
your warp effect at any time by double-clicking the Puppet Warp entry
itself to reenter the puppet warp mode and gain access to all your pins
once again.

  1. Turn the Type layer into a smart object. Applying puppet
warp to type is almost more fun than applying it to people. But
before you can apply the distortion to the type layer, you need
to rasterize the type (convert the type to pixels) or turn it into
a smart object. We’ll choose the latter. Right-click the Jump,
Puppet type layer in the Layers panel, and choose Convert to
    Smart Object.

  2. Reinvoke puppet warp and apply to the letter P. Once again,
choose Edit→Puppet Warp. Place pins at the top and bottom
of the spine of the second letter P in of the word Puppet, and
then stretch the upper pin upward as in Figure 8-32.
