(やまだぃちぅ) #1
Oranges slider to the left toward red. A value of –70 produces
the effect shown in Figure 9-24. Everything orange changes to
red; other colors remain untouched.

Notice that your range for modifying any hue is limited. For example, I can
rotate the hues of the flowers between red and yellow, but I can’t make them
purple. The other sliders in the Hue subpanel don’t help because each slider
operates on the original colors, not the modified ones.

  1. Change the hues behind the wing. Case in point: Click the
close-up shot Wing.dng in the vertical filmstrip. The background
is a yellowish green but I want it to be blue. Change the Greens
value to its absolute maximum, +100. The background becomes
bluer, falling more or less in the aqua range. It’s tempting to in-
crease the Aquas value, but the base raw image has no aquas,
so the Aquas slider has no effect. I could get clever and heap
on more color adjustments using Temperature, Tint, and the
options in the Camera Calibration panel. But if I really have
my heart set on a blue background, I’m better off opening the
image in Photoshop and applying the Hue/Saturation command.
