- Increase the saturation of the wing. Fortunately, I don’t have
my heart set on a blue background; I’m more concerned about
lifting the saturation of the insect’s wing. Click the Saturation
tab to make it active. You’ll see the same slider bars as before.
But instead of drifting from one color to another, each slider
progresses from gray to full saturation. To modify the satura-
tion of the wing independently of its background, do like so:- The wing is orange, so raise the Oranges value to +100.
- That’s not enough. Luckily, the wing contains a good deal
of yellow, so increase the Yellows value to +100 as well. - To settle down the background a bit, you might reason that
Aquas is the proper choice. But as far as the HSL/Grayscale
panel is concerned, the background is still green. Back off
Greens to –50 to achieve the effect in Figure 9-25.
