Adobe Photoshop CS5 One-on-One

(やまだぃちぅ) #1

  1. Select the path. When you activate the path in the panel,
you’ll see a solid outline appear around the arms and torso.
Press the A key to get the black arrow tool (officially called the
path selection tool, but I like to call it what it is). Click with
the black arrow tool on that outline, and you’ll see a series of
anchor points come to life along the path, as in Figure 10-25.
These points and their frequent companions, the control
handles (which you’ll see in a moment), define the outline of
the path. At the moment, all points appear as solid squares
    to show that they’re selected.

  1. Examine the unfinished path. If you zoom into the lower-left
quadrant of the image, you’ll notice that the prebaked path I
created for you isn’t quite finished. I haven’t traced the area
under her right arm (on the left side of the image). We’ll com-
plete this path in the first part of this exercise, and then load
it as a selection to add to our working mask.
