Adobe Photoshop CS5 One-on-One

(やまだぃちぅ) #1

  1. Reposition the upper control handle. As we try to make
that curve around the crook of her elbow, the upper control
handle will affect the curve of the next segment we’re about
to draw. We probably don’t want the control handle up quite
so high. Press and hold the Ctrl key (-key) to grab the white
arrow tool on-the-fly. With it, you can reposition any anchor
point or control handle. Move that top control handle down
to about half its original length.

  2. Create two more points further up her arm. Click and drag
to make your next anchor point in the crook of her elbow,
then add another one further up her arm. Now that you’ve
established a clockwise direction, keep moving and drag-
ging that way. You can see my placement of anchor points
and control handles for the inside of her arm in Figure 10-29.

Or you can switch to my Deke’s Body Path entry in the Paths panel, and
click along it with the white arrow tool to get hands-on information
about where I placed my points. Note that to see the control handles for
any given anchor point, you need to select it specifically with the white
arrow tool. To resume your working path, simply switch back to the Paths
panel, reselect the path, and resume with the pen tool.
