- Turn on the every-line composer. Flush
left type is sometimes said to be ragged
right, and the body text in this compo-
sition is nothing if not a case in point.
To even out the choppy edges, switch
to the Paragraph panel by clicking its
tab in the Character panel cluster. Then
click the in the top-right corner of the
panel to bring up the panel menu and
choose Adobe Every-line Composer.
Photoshop better aligns the right edges
of the type, as in Figure 11-16.

Photoshop’s single-line composer (active prior to
Step 23) ana lyzes each line of type on its own,
in a vacuum. The every-line composer (shown in
Figure 11-16) examines the entire text layer as
a whole and spaces the text to give it the most
even appearance possible.
- Justify the type. Less ragged text is great, but let’s say you want both
the left and right edges to be flush. Click the fourth icon ( ) in the
top row of the Paragraph panel to justify the paragraph and leave
the last line flush left, as shown in Figure 11-17. You can also press
Ctrl+Shift+J (-Shift-J).
