- Convert the 2084 layer to shapes. Let’s say we want to simi-
larly prevent the text 2084 from changing on another system.
Right-click (or Control-click) the 2084 layer in the Layers panel
and choose Convert to Shape midway down the context menu.
Photoshop converts the characters to shape outlines, which will
easily survive the journey from one system to another. - Display the guidelines. This image contains a total of eight
guides—four vertical and four horizontal. If you can’t see the
guides, choose View→Show→Guides or press Ctrl+ (- ).
The guides will aid us in the creation of our shapes.
Shape geometry options
- Select the polygon tool in the toolbox. Click and hold the
rectangle tool icon, below the arrow tool, to display the flyout
menu pictured in Figure 11-28. Then choose the polygon tool,
which lets you draw regular polygons—things like pentagons
and hexagons—as well as stars. - Click the shape layers icon in the options bar. Highlighted on
the far left in Figure 11-29, this icon tells the polygon tool to
draw an independent shape layer.
