- Select the line tool. The next step is to draw a rule under the
word ELECTION. The best tool for this job is the line tool. You
can select it in either of the following ways:- Select the line tool from the shape tool flyout menu, just as
you chose the polygon tool back in Step 4. - Click the current occupant of the shape tool slot. Then click
the line tool icon in the options bar, as shown in Figure 11-38.

- Increase the Weight value to 12 pixels. The Weight value deter-
mines the thickness of lines drawn with the line tool. You can
modify the value directly in the options bar, or press Shift+
to raise the value by 10 and to raise it by another 1. - Click the Stars layer in the Layers panel. Be sure to click the
vector mask to make it active. By selecting this layer and its
mask, you do two things: First, you tell Photoshop to create
the next shape layer in front of the Stars layer. Second, you tell
it to match the Stars layer’s color and style attributes.
