Street-by-Street: Krakowskie
Przedmieście 8
Rebuilt after World War II, Krakowskie Przedmieście is
one of the most beautiful streets in Warsaw. Lined with
trees, green squares and statues of distinguished Poles,
the street is dominated by several palaces such as the
Presidential Palace (Namiestnikowski Palac). Some of
these now house government departments. On week-
days, this is one of the live liest streets, as two great insti-
tutions of higher education – the University of Warsaw
and the Academy of Fine Arts – are situated here.
Numerous restaurants, bars and cafés line the street.
