Montenegro is dominated by towering peaks that
provide a stunning back drop to the sparkling blue
Adriatic and the sandy beaches that line the coun-
try’s coastline. Its capital is the Ottoman-influenced
city of Podgorica, dotted with mosques, cafés and
restaur ants. Among the other cities of interest is
Kotor, located on Montenegro’s most beautiful
bay. Getting around is easy as the bus service is
exten sive, although sporadic inland. A rail way line
runs from Bar to Podgorica, and on to Belgrade.
