Attached to a whole-foods shop, this is widely held to be the best vegetarian (but not vegan) restaurant in Brussels.
Garden and veranda seating in summer. On offer are salads, tarts, terrines and bakes, many Asian-inspired. These

Translating as The Wheelbarrow, La Brouette is a modest name for one of Anderlecht’s best restaurants. The
smart interior complements top-class French-style cuisine. Dishes are based on local, seasonal produce and are

A gloriously theatrical restaurant with 350 tables set out in the rooms of a vast late-19th-century townhouse. The
decor ranges between decadent Baroque and bohemian kitsch. The menu is brasserie-style French-Mediterranean

Set in a large townhouse dating from 1883, this is a strongly design-oriented restaurant. The decor is a sleek
modern confection of soothing white and reds, with plenty of airy space and an emphasis on natural materials.

A wonderfully stylish restaurant in the midst of the Art Nouveau district. Installed in an astonishing, preserved and
converted hardware store, La Quinquaillerie put designer Antoine Pinto on the map in 1988. The high-quality

Perhaps the capital’s best Italian restaurant, Le Stelle occupies a handsomely decorated house with a shaded garden
for summer eating. Closed for Saturday lunch and on Sundays. There is also a smaller, neighbouring branch,
the Osteria delle Stelle, an Art Nouveau-style bistro with similar fare and marginally cheaper.

One of the best restaurants in Belgium, on the edge of the Bois de la Cambre. The main dining room is a winter garden,
a covered veranda overlooking the garden, where tables are placed under the trees in summer. On the menu is top-
quality French cuisine. Formal attire is requested. Closed on Sundays and Mondays and for three weeks in July.
