This statue, a beautiful sample of the n’duleri style, is
iconographically and stylisticly close to two well-known others,
one in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the other
in the musée des Beaux-Arts of Montréal. It might represent a
man with important ritual functions, maybe the binupriest,
sitting on a stool whose front legs have disappeared.
