Twirled Bury Knowle Blossom

by Howard Stanbury
OnePlus 7T smartphone, 4.75mm (28mm equivalent)
main lens, 1/2500sec at f/1.7, ISO 125
Howard is an Oxford-based photographer with an interest in
community, documentary, and landscape photography. ‘The
source photo shows pink blossom on a tree in Bury
Knowle Park, Oxford. It was post-processed in Photoshop,
following a tutorial on YouTube (youtu.be/J8T3_Ew0wqU).
The process uses the Pixelate Mezzotint filter and then Radial
Zoom Blur and successive Distort Twirl filters to achieve the
effect.’ Follow Howard on Flickr flickr.com/stanbury and

Talybont Reservoir

by Robert Maynard
Nikon D800, 35mm, 1/6sec at f/11, ISO 250, polariser
and tripod
‘I took this on a trip to the Talybont Reservoir, which is the
largest stillwater reservoir in the Brecon Beacons. It was
raining and so I waited in the car. Suddenly the rain stopped
and I was then able to set up my tripod. It was so unusual to
see this cloud formation in the sky before the sunset, with
such beautiful clouds,’ explains Robert. See more of his
images at his Instagram page @robertmaynardphoto.
