Again, harping back to points one, two and three – it’s about
the money. But it’s also about the customer’s enjoyment. Lunch
with a delicious dessert and an excellent cup of coffee is simply a
better lunch. It’s a better experience. You mustn’t bully them into
buying more, but make sure you have done everything in your
power to offer them coffee and dessert and let them make the
decision themselves. Too often coffee shop owners believe they are
doing the customer a favour by not trying to sell them other items.
It simply isn’t the case.
