BLINK MINI
£35, amazon.co.uk

Amazon’s Blink cameras are the very definition
of cheap and cheerful. They’re cut-price yet
highly capable cams that make it feasible to
cover your home’s perimeter and insides with
cloud-connected eyes for far less cash than
rival systems. The plug-in Blink Mini comes in
at an even lower cost, cutting the price of the
720p Blink Indoor almost in half. Quite how
Amazon has crammed a 1080p sensor, two-
way talk, night vision, Echo Show integration
and motion detection into the Blink Mini’s
compact shell is remarkable. Yes, there’s no
battery, and the free cloud storage of its bigger
brothers has gone in favour of a subscription or
local storage via the forthcoming Blink Sync
Module 2, but we’re plenty impressed.

T3 SAYS: Everyone needs home security, and
the Blink Mini makes it quick, easy and cheap
enough for the whole home.

LG ULTRAGEAR 27GN
$399 (around £322), lg.com

What do gamers really need? Usually the
answer to that question is equivocally not
resolution. However pretty a 1440p or 4K
picture may be, for twitch gamers those are
wasted pixels, swallowing graphics power that
might otherwise be put to better use. That’s
why LG’s 27GN750 tops out at 1080p, but it
absolutely doesn’t skimp in any other aspect.
It’s huge, with a 27” corner-to-corner IPS panel,
and damn fast, refreshing at up to 240Hz, and
offering minimal input lag. There’s G-Sync and
Freesync compatibility, making everything
smoother no matter which graphics platform
you’re on, and it can handle HDR10 with 99%
SRGB for immersive colours. There is even
black stabilisation for balancing out over-dark
or over-bright situations, and a crosshair overlay.

T3 SAYS: A screen built more for winning than
luxuriating – and that makes sense.
