short sentence at first glance.
Your slogan should be incorporated into virtually every as-
pect of your marketing. If you can, include your slogan on
your business cards, and definitely print your slogan on your
envelope and letterhead for your farm and FSBO mailings.


Your Mission Statement


A business just isn’t a business without a mission state-
ment. For your website, personal office web page, or for
your resume, you’ll need to provide a mission statement. A
mission statement shouldn’t be more than a couple of sen-
tences long. Your mission statement needs to communicate
these three important elements:



  1. Your purpose

  2. Your business

  3. Your value


Think about what you provide within these guidelines.
You can create each part individually, and then incorpo-
rate them into one statement. Here is an example:


Your Purpose: To provide quality services
Your Business: Guiding homeowners through transactions
Your Value: Saving clients time and money while build-
ing new relationships

Now when you put all of that together, your mission
statement would look like this:
