above it and focus on your success. Keep chang-
ing, keep learning, and keep challenging to take
yourself to the next level of your career.

5.Set goals. Many people fail in life, not because
they don’t have what it takes to succeed, but be-
cause they lack a desirable goal. Goal setting
should have a whole chapter devoted to it. Better
yet, goal setting should have its own book. Hav-
ing goals is probably the single most important
factor that drives the wheel of success.
Establish your goals, and be realistic about
them. Start a major goal with a timeline of ten
years. Just think about where you want to be in
ten years. Is it in a new home on the beach? How
about being the top producer in the region?
Whatever it may be, etch it in stone (not literally).
Then establish a five-year goal, a one-year goal, a
six-month goal, a one-month goal, a one-week
goal, etc. Keep replenishing your short-term goals
when they are fulfilled. Keep working toward
your goals. Without goals you would have no rea-
son to work to your highest potential and, ulti-
mately, there would be no reason for you to be
reading this book.


6.Sharpen the saw.In order for you to get from here
to your goal you must overcome the many obsta-
cles that will keep you from achieving your goals.
