Sérgio Conceição, Portugal
Sérgio, who comes from Elvas in eastern
Portugal, fi rst started taking photographs as part
of a social communications course he took in the
early 2000s. He hasn’t stopped taking pictures
since, concentrating in particular on social
portraits and landscapes – and a selection of the latter can
be seen here. ‘Photography frees me up to express my
feelings, and that’s important to me,’ he says. ‘It also gives
me the freedom to be able to create. I see photography as
giving me a canvas on to which I can add colour.’ Follow
