Pruning is often tailored to
species. ‘Carillon’ yellow
foxglove (Digitalis grandiflora
‘Carillon’) can be deadheaded to
basal foliage for decent
rebloom. Mountain bluet
(Centaurea montana) is first
deadheaded to lateral flower
buds for prolonged bloom, then
cut down to basal foliage for
repeat flowering. Shown with
