The Terracotta Army in Xi’an is one of the world’s most

archaeological inds – and it’s just got bigger, as 200 m

terracotta warriors have been excavated, along with 1

horses, the remains of two chariots and many bronze

weapons. The excavation has been taking place over t

past 10 years in Pit 1, the largest of the three major pits

near the mausoleum of emperor, Qin Shi Huang. The 

pit was discovered in 1974 by farmers who uncovered

head of one of the clay igures while digging a well. Si

then over 2,000 warriors have been excavated; there

believed to be more than 7,000 still to be uncovered.

You can now experience Swedish Lapland – and

the northern lights – from a whole new perspective:
