First Lady Melania Trump take a pace

lap on February 1 in the presidential

limousine before the start of the

Daytona  race at Daytona

International Speedway. According

to a NASCAR ofɿcial, it was a ɿrst

of sorts: They made a complete

lap with the full ʀeet of racing cars

following closely by. The race, won

by Denny Hamlin, was marred by an

almost-deadly, ɿery crash. The driver,

Ryan Newman, ama]ingly survived.
