Sugar and Spice Cookie Mix

sugar and spice and everything nice! these cinnamon oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are
great edible favors and are free from major allergens. use pink or blue M&M’s depending on
whether your mommy-of-honor is expecting a boy or girl.

Morning Sunrise Mocktail


•Soy-free •Dairy-free •Nut-free

this pretty drink is a take on the virgin tequila sunrise, except mine is made with homemade
pomegranate syrup instead of bottled grenadine.

1⅓ cups (160 g) liv’s Flour
blend (page 15) or ⅔ cup (80 g)
cornstarch plus ⅓ cup (40 g)
almond flour plus ⅓ cup (40 g)
oat flour
¾ cup (60 g) rolled oats
½ cup (112 g) packed brown sugar
½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
¾ cup (130 g) candy-coated
chocolate pieces such as M&M’s
¾ cup (130 g) semisweet chocolate
chips
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt

Layer the ingredients in a 1-quart (1 liter) mason jar in the order given. Level
each layer by tapping the jar before adding the next layer.
Include a card or label with the following instructions: Preheat the oven
to 350 ̊F (180 ̊C, or gas mark 4). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, mix together ½ cup (112 g) melted butter or margarine,
1 egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir in the entire contents of the jar
using a wooded spoon. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches (5 cm) apart onto
the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 9 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to
cool. Makes 36 cookies.

Yield: 1 party favor


Chef’s Tip
You’ll most likely be making a bunch of these at once. Lay out the jars on
your counter and measure one ingredient at a time into each jar, assembly
line style.

1 tablespoon (15 ml) pomegranate
syrup
½ cup (120 ml) chilled pineapple
juice
½ cup (120 ml) chilled orange juice
1 orange slice
