NO, THIS (LEFT) IS NOT THEIR LOVE CHILD,
it’s someone else’s kid. Nonetheless, in the
folk world and beyond, it is now an open
secret that Joan and Bob are a pair. As Suze
Rotolo influenced Dylan politically, so does
Baez. But he keeps his eyes on his personal
prize. He tells a friend at one point that he
wrote “The Times They Are A-Changin’ ”
because it was what he thought people
wanted to hear. And when he celebrates
with Joan (below, left) it’s because he’s
in love and his career is soaring, not
necessarily because he’s saving the world.
Meantime, all the time, he keeps working.
