Life Bookazines - Bob Dylan - 2020

BOB AND SARA AND ANNA ARE ON THE

porch of their Byrdcliffe home in 1968, and
then Bob is in the living room with Jesse and
Maria, his adopted daughter, the same year.
The Byrdcliffe Arts Colony is interesting. A
utopian/artistic community just outside
Woodstock, 1,500 bucolic acres nestled in
the foothills of the Catskill Mountains and
facing Mount Guardian, it was founded in

  1. Over time, it did not succeed, and
eventually some land and properties were
put up for sale. Because of the spirit of the
place, artsy types were attracted. Dylan and
his family lived in a house there, on Ohayo
Mountain Road, in the 1960s and early ’70s.
