Passed away onTuesday,February 18, 2020,
at his home in Ashburn, Virginia. Born in
Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the
late Rupert and Angela Biggs.After serving
in the Army,Jim returned home and married
his high school sweetheart, the late Marue
Biggs.Jim earned his business degree from
Eastern Michigan University while working for
the Bendix Corporation. After residing in New
Jersey for three years,Jim and his family
lived in Northern Virginia where he continued
his career at Seabury&Smith, managing a
call center and IT team. He moved on to
implement these departments in Asia and
South America. Jim and Marue settled in Lake
of theWoods,Orange County,VAin2000,
where Jim eventually retired. He lived life to
the fullest and enjoyed many fine days playing
golf with the Goofers,taking rides on his
pontoon boat, and spending time with family
and friends.Jim is survived by his daughter
DeidraBiggs,son Darren (Sara) Biggs; and
grandson Cole Stevens.Heisalso survived by
his brother,Rupert (Kathy) Biggs.

where Bob was Stationed.
Marta Retired in 2007 after 27 years working
for VIAR/Dyn Corps/CSC as an Accountant.
After retirement Marta attended events and
lectures in the OLLI at George Mason University
and was an avid reader.

Thailand, and Laos while John worked for the
U.S.Foreign Service.Onreturning to theU.S.,
“A ndy” found her life’spassion in civic activism
and local and state politics.Aresident of
Chevy Chase,MD,she was part of the original
citizens’ movement advocating for responsible
development inFriendship Heights and Bethes-

ate for many years.Asher friends and family
knew so well, her capacity for outrage at

ment contracting business based in Green-
belt, MD.With the help of some 80 highly
skilled scientists and engineers who special-
ized in satellite data analysis,RDC support-
ed the work of NASA, NOAA and classified
government programs.
After tragically losing Tina to breast cancer,
Kenbriefly returned to India to be with his
family and contemplate next steps.
Upon returning to the United States,he
met his future wife,Regina. They married
on April 29, 2000 and several years later
were blessed withachild. Once again,Ken
begananew adventure: fatherhood. While
he hadadaughter with his first wife in India,
his educational pursuits,work and travel
prevented him from being fully engaged in
her upbringing.
In 2018, they moved into their new home on
the Severn River.Ken considered the move
yet another new adventure in his long and
vibrant life and spent his final days enjoying
the glory of nature along the banks of the
river.
K.S.Vasan is survived by his wife of 20
years,Regina BradyVasan, and their son,
Kendrick BradyVasan, of Annapolis,MD;
adaughter from his first marriage,Mala
Vasudevan of Reston,VAand her husband,
Vasu; four sisters:Vaidehi Rajagopalan of
Bangalore,Ananda Rajagopalan andVasan-
thaParthasarathy of Chennai, and Nirmala
Sundararajan of Kancheepuram,Tamilnadu.
He is also survived by three grandchildren:
AanandVasudevan,PavithraVasudevan and
RakshaVasudevan; and four great-grandchil-
dren.
Acelebration ofKen’slife will be held on
Saturday,March 14 at LastingTr ibutes,8 14
Bestgate Road, Annapolis,MD.Visitation and
viewing will begin at1p.m. and services will
follow at2p.m. In lieu of flowers,the family
requests donations be made to Hospice of
the Chesapeake,90Ritchie Highway,Pasade-
na, MD 21122, which provided extraordinari-
ly kind and compassionate care inKen’sfinal
hours.

K.S.VASAN "Ken"
Kuppuswami Srinivasan, also known as
“Ken” by his American friends and “Bali” by
his family in India, died on Saturday,March 7
from complications after hip surgery.
Kenwas one of 13 children born to R.S.
Kuppuswami Iyengar,anexecutive for the
British Railway,and K. Rukmini,ahomemak-
er,inMadras (now Chennai), India.
Kenattended RishiValley boarding school
in AndhraPradesh. Upon graduation, he mar-
ried and went on to study civil engineering
in Chennai, after which he worked for the
Indian government.
Seeking to advance his education by studying
in theU.S,Kenenrolled at Utah State Univer-
sity,obtainingagraduate’sdegree in engi-
neering.After earning his master’sdegree,
he was quickly offered jobs by American
engineering firms that wanted to expand
their business in Asia.Kenspent the early
years of his career traveling on behalf of
various water treatment companies opening,
certifying and managing their facilities
throughout Asia.
Kenmoved to NewYork City where he met
longtime companion of ClementineKoomen,
also known as Tina. Originally from The
Netherlands,Tina sharedKen’sexperience
of coming to America in search of education
and adventure and the two becameacouple
after his divorce from his first marriage.
