I’m super excited for
Concrete Genie. I think
it’s story and setting is so
unique, the guys over @

Is it just me or is the
Signal Modulator in
Resident Evil 2 Remake
strangely satisfying
to play around with.

Modern world
Like most people the
original Modern Warfare
was my first foray into

the world of online
gaming. I’ve long since
moved on to other titles,
but part of me has
always wanted to get
back to a simpler style
of multiplayer. So it was
great to see MW arrive
on PS Plus – and it was
just as I remembered it. I
just can’t work out if that
was a good thing. I always
considered annoyances
like camping a result of
bad sportsmanship, but
everything from level
designtobulletdamage

seems to encourage it.
Even killstreak rewards
can be triggered safely
away from the action.
There’s little incentive to
get stuck in. If MW had
been released now for
the first time, would it
be as popular as it was?
I always thought I’d love
going back to it, but on
reflection the huge health
bars and super powers
in modern online games
seem much more fun.
Pete Wisdom via email

Things have definitely
come a long way as
online multiplayer has
been reworked and
refined. We’re not sure
Modern Warfare could
stand up to the likes of
Apex Legends. Would we
have the games we have
now without it, though?
We won’t say which
members of Team OPM
are prone to camping,
though Jess will need a
newtentatthisrate...

Be a sport

sports sims are, why
don’t you write about
them more? You give
more space to things like
Lego games!
Ed Naylor via email

Don’t knock the Lego
games – they’re
alarmingly popular, and
not just with our Mim.
We’d get Ian to write a
PES feature, but he’d
just use it as an excuse
to play all day. You’ll
just have to flip to p36
for the latest news on
Snooker 19.

Star letter Gimme five
Sony’s not showing anything at E3 – so why don’t they
just admit they’re working on PS5 and put us out of
our misery? All my friends are saying because of the
no-show that PlayStation’s dead. Why can’t Sony show
us what they’re working on and give us PlayStation
fans something to talk about?
Olly Edwards via email

Control. Days Gone. Sekiro. Devil May Cry 5. The
Division 2. Those aren’t just highlights from this
year, Olly, they’re from this issue. With the great
games we’ve already got, and the ones coming,
PS4 could keep us happy for years on its own. That
said, Sony will be working on something for the
future – but we’d rather wait and be presented with
something finished than be fed a lot of early hype.

IF MODERN WARFARE
RELEASED NOW FOR THE
FIRST TIME, WOULD IT BE AS
POPULAR AS IT WAS?
