Students and friends of Samuel
P. Huntington (1927–2008) have
established a prize in the amount of
$10,000 for the best book published
each year in the field of national
security. The book can be a work
of history or political science, or a
work by a practitioner of statecraft.
The prize will not be awarded if the
Huntington Prize Committee judges
that the submissions in a given year
do not meet the high standards set
by Samuel P. Huntington.
The Huntington Prize Committee is
