These comparisons can be modified by the use of adverbs such as slightly, considerably,
significantlyand substantially:
The Dutch economy is slightly larger than Australia’s.
Russia’s GDP is substantially smallerthan Mexico’s.
Similarity can be noted by the use of as... as:
France’s population is as large as Britain’s.
This form can also be used for quantitative comparison:
Britain is half as large as France.(also twice as large as, ten times as fast as)
