Culture Clash
Greek police, on February 26, fought
with demonstrators who were
protesting the construction of a new
migrant camp near Mantamados on
the northeastern Aegean island of
Lesbos. The Greek islands of Lesbos,
Chios and Samos staged a general
strike. Small groups of protesters threw
stones and even fire bombs at police
who fought back with tear gas and flash
grenades. The controversial camp is
intended to house up to 7,000 people.

sectarian riots over India’s new
