Others, like Google and Facebook, canceled

WWDC20 will be available in the Apple
Developer app on the Apple Developer site for
all developers for free, and it’s expected that the
“main keynote event” will be free for all to view.

Speaking of the upcoming presentation,
Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of
Worldwide Marketing, said that WWDC20 would
be Apple’s “biggest yet”, adding that the new
virtual format would be “bringing together our
global developer community of more than 23
million in an unprecedented way to learn about
the future of Apple platforms.”

“We can’t wait to meet with the global
developer community and share with them all
of the tools we’ve been working on to help them
create even more incredible apps and services,”
he added. “We look forward to sharing more
with everyone as we get closer to this event.”

Alongside WWDC20, Apple confirmed that
its Swift Student Challenge would be taking
submissions through May 17, which recognizes
and celebrates young developers and their
talents. Students and budding developers
around the world are encouraged to create
and submit an interactive scene in the Swift
Playground app that can be experienced in
three minutes, and the winners will receive an
exclusive WWDC20 jacket and a pin set.

We’ll be bringing you the latest pre- and post-
WWDC coverage, alongside in-depth analysis
and reviews on iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS
7, macOS 10.16, tvOS 14, and news on the
