over 16 million views. The
fully functional instrument
cost a mere $120 as the

The pencils were then glued
together with epoxy resin,

A deep sea diver escaped being
made a meal to a Bryde Whale
after he was scooped into
the large mammal’s mouth.
Dive Expert Tour director,
Rainer Schimpf, from South
Africa, set out with a group of
divers to document a sardine
run only to face a potentially
fatal situation. The team were
located 25 nautical miles from
the shoreline when the sea
began to churn and Schimpf
was swallowed by the whale.
Incredibly, and to the shock
of the team, the creature
released the 51-year-old from
his mouth and Schimpf swam

back to the boat unharmed.
The experienced diver said,
“thereis notimefor fear in a
situation likethat – you have
to useyourinstinct... I held my
breath because I thought ‘he is
going to dive down and release
me much deeper in the ocean’,
it was pitch black inside.”
