Largest LEGO® brick caravan
The largest LEGO® brick caravan consists of 288,630
individual bricks, achieved by Ben “The Brick Builder”,
sponsored by Caravanning Queensland and Top Parks from
a concept by John Cochrane Advertising (all Australia) in
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on 26 September 2018.
The concept to attempt this title came from John Cochrane
Advertising who wanted to celebrate the 50th anniversary
Queensland Caravanning and Camping Show with
“Something Big.” Ben Craig was commissioned shortly after
to start the design and building process, while Caravanning
Queensland and Top Parks got involved to sponsor the project.
The LEGO® brick caravan was modelled after a 1973 Viscount
Royale and was fully furnished with stove-top, refrigerator,
sink with running water, checkers board, drawers with
silverware and even a tub of Vegemite made from LEGO®
bricks. Ben once accidentally locked himself into his workshop
and had to sleep overnight on the LEGO® brick bed.

At 6 m in length and comprising 80,020
pieces, Dinosaur Skeleton by Nathan
Sawaya (USA) is an actual-size skeleton
of the dinosaur Tyrannosaurus rex –
the largest complete skeleton made
from LEGO bricks. The T-rex featured
as the largest item in Sawaya’s touring
exhibition, The Art of the Brick, and
was built over the summer of 2011
“in honour of the thousands of children who enjoy the art
of LEGO building”. Nathan says that it took him a whole
summer to build it. New York-based artist Nathan is best
known for his colourful and witty creations from LEGO, and
is recognized by the manufacturer as a LEGO Master Builder
and Certified Professional. His trademark 3D portraits include
such cultural icons as Elvis Presley, Superman and Lady
Gaga, as well as his own concepts: for example, a skeleton,
Mr Bones, captured in the act of draping a blue “skin” (of
bricks, naturally) around his bones; and a Melting Man of
transparent bricks.

The tallest structure built with
interlocking plastic bricks
measured 35.05 m (114 ft 11
in) and was achieved by Lego
Italia (Italy), in Milan, Italy, on
21 June 2015. An estimated
550,000 LEGO® bricks were
used to complete the tower.
Each tiny LEGO® brick has
been an important contributor
to reach the record, just
as everyday actions are
important to build a better
future. As a symbol of
this idea, the LEGO Group
donated 7 Euros (about $11
Aussie) for every centimeter
built of the tower to Urban
Oasis – a project, which
focuses on the protection
and development of Urban
Oasis in collaboration with the
World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
The event took place from
June 17th to June 21st and
was visited by more than
50.000 spectators 18.000 keen
builders. Children and grown-
ups had fun in the free play
area where they as part of the
building activity also received
simple and effective advice on
how to preserve our planet.
