Certain games need no introduction, and
we’d imagine that Elite is one of them. As
well as being one of the rare games to have
featured on the cover of Retro Gamer more
than once, it was voted the best BBC Micro
game by our readers in issue 148 and was
ported to just about every system that had
any hope of running it. But if you’ve only
just joined us, Elite is an open-ended game
in which you explore space, battle enemies
including the Thargoids, and take on missions
in order to upgrade your ship. You should
