Sleeves (make 2)
Sleeves are worked from bottom up to
shoulder. Cuff is worked separately and
stitched to end of Sleeve before Sleeve is
seamed at underarm.
With MC, chain 57 (57, 59, 62, 62, 64, 67, 69).

Cuff (make 2)
With MC, chain 71 (71, 74, 77, 77, 80, 83, 86).
Row 1: Starting from 2nd chain from hook,
dc across. Turn. 70 (70, 73, 76, 76, 79,
82, 85) dc
Rows 2-13: 2 ch, dc across. Turn.
Fasten off.
Lay Cuff over bottom longer edge of
Sleeve, overlapping approximately 8 rows
of Sleeve. Carefully stitch Sleeve to inside
of Cuff. Cuff is larger than Sleeve so will
not sit quite flat. Sew into fabric rather
than through it so stitches do not show on
outside of Cuff.

Making up
Once you start seaming your Coat will have
RS and WS. Seam with WS facing you using
whip or mattress stitch. Start by joining row-
end-side of Granny Square Panel to Back
Yoke as follows. Fold pleat into centre top
of Granny Square Panel, approximately 4cm
wide and align top to bottom side of Back
Yoke so widths are equal, seam together.
Pleat should be on inside (WS) of Coat.
With WS facing, join top of Back Neck
Shaping to Front Neck Shaping to create
shoulder seams.
Lay out Sleeves so short ends are centred
around shoulder seams. Sew Sleeves
to body.
Fold Coat over at the shoulders and, with
WS facing, seam up sides of Coat, joining
side seams of Front Panels with Granny
Square Panels. Work from bottom up until
you reach underarm of Sleeves. Continue
seaming Sleeves from underarm towards
Cuff, seaming Sleeve section and Cuff
section separately.

Collar
With RS facing, join MC to top of
Front Panel.
Row 1 (RS): 1 ch (does not count as st
here and throughout), dc evenly around
Front Neck Shaping, Back Neck Shaping
and other Front Neck Shaping, placing
stitch markers at shoulder seams (and
moving them up as you work). Turn.
Row 2: 1 ch, dc across. Turn.
Row 3: 1 ch, dc to first st marker, sl st to
next st marker, dc to end. Turn.
Rows 4-15: As Row 3.
Row 16: As Row 2.
Row 17: 1 ch, working in BLO, dc across
(this will allow Collar to fold over). Turn.
Rows 18-34: As Row 2.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
