millions of dollars into remote working software
and hardware in the past couple of months, it
makes perfect sense for staff to work from their
homes post-crisis, with some organizations
already cutting their leases short and asking
staff to permanently make the transition to
remote working, with daily catch-up calls.

WORK WILL NEVER BE THE SAME

In the past, companies have been reluctant
to allow their employees to work from home
because of inertia and entrenched norms, but
with two-thirds of Americans now forced
into their home offices, it’s clear that work can
be done when the right support is available.
Some have even predicted that, as professionals
get used to working from their living rooms
and enjoying the freedom of flexible at-home
working, they’ll resist when they are yanked
back into the office. With no morning commute,
no boardroom meetings, and no expensive
lunches, professionals are falling in love with
their working arrangements.

When those working arrangements are paired
with Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom,
the idea of spending hundreds of dollars
per week on gas and sandwiches seems less
attractive - even more so when you consider
the environmental impact lockdown is
having. And now that businesses have had their
hands forced, pumping money into updating
their outdated systems and technology, will they
want to go back to the way things were before?
By embracing technology and innovation, we’re
making permanent changes to our working lives

  • and video conferencing calls like Zoom and
Google Meet will be our new colleagues.
