The world’s
strongest team
returns in Dragon
Ball ‘Project Z’
Dragon Ball fans rejoice. A brand-new
action role-playing game based on the
series is coming this year, courtesy
of Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2.
Previously, the series has slotted
itself neatly into the model of fighting
games, with a handful of RPG titles,
which garnered mixed reviews at best,
spread out over the years. Our fingers
are crossed that this one will embrace
the RPG genre to its fullest.
The announcement trailer focuses
on battles in which Goku, the series’
protagonist, features centre stage.
Towards the end we also get a glimpse
of some of the locations we’ll be
able to explore, such as the Bamboo
Forest, Kame House and West City,
home of Capsule Corp.
A press release from Bandai Namco
states that the game “...will take
players on the most dramatic and
epic telling of the Dragon Ball Z story”.
However, it’s yet to be confirmed if this
will be the whole story or just a part of
it. We hedging our bets on this being
only part of the DBZ saga, as the trailer
seems to show elements of the story
up to a certain point (the end of the
Frieza Saga), and logic dictates that
the developers would want to hold
on to some of the later story arcs for
