NEARLY PUBLISHED CELEBRATES
UNSUCCESSFUL DESIGN
One commonly identified problem with creative media is
that it only ever shows people’s finished, successful work,
making you feel like your own efforts are inferior. But now
Abbie Lilley and Lili Phillips, two third-year graphic design
students at Central St Martins, have created a way to help
right the balance. Nearly is an online publishing platform
that focuses on process rather than end results, and features
rejected submissions, unfulfilled ideas and design mistakes.
It’s a great opportunity to get a candid insight into how
other creatives think.

TOP ILLUSTRATORS CONTRIBUTE TO FREE
COLOURING BOOK
With schools closed for the duration of the current crisis,
adults and children alike have been stuck at home, bored and
stressed. Online bookstore and publisher Counter-Print
decided to do something to help, and set about creating a
downloadable colouring book based on a suggestion from
illustrator Malika Favre. It’s made up of contributions from
some of the world’s best illustrators, including Malika herself,
Anthony Burrill, Bethan Woollvin, Eva Dijkstra, Jay Cover,
Marco Oggian, MillerGoodman, Paul Thurlby, Sigrid Calon,
Tad Carpenter and Zipeng Zhu. The book is free to download.

MARKUP STREAMLINES DESIGN FEEDBACK
Nicely timed for the recent explosion in remote
working, Ceros has launched Markup, a visual
commenting and design platform that streamlines
the feedback process for digital content. It essentially
eliminates the need to use multiple tools to gather
input from stakeholders on your app and website
designs. And the service is straightforward to use:
you simply add your site’s URL into MarkUp, then
the software renders it into a canvas ready for
feedback. Overall, it’s an effective way to invite
colleagues and clients to collaborate and comment
on digital designs in real-time, all in one place.
