(stories)
On 25 May 2018, Ireland voted by a large
majority to overturn its abortion laws, which
were among the most restrictive in the world.
While many of the images presented in World
Press Photo were taken in far-off locations,
Olivia’s images are very close to home. The
photo story presented the complex issues around
the referendum without necessarily making a
clear-cut political statement of its own. In this
image from the set, Repeal campaigner Megan
Scott, dressed as St Brigid, poses on Dublin’s
main shopping street, on 21 April.
