opportunities,andwhatshouldtakeabout
35-40minutestotravelthe 15 orsomiles
tothecoastcaneasilytakeyouallday.
However,thefabulouslochsof CillChriosd
andSlapinarepurelyappetisersforwhat
awaitsat theendof theroad.
A beachthatfaceswestandis littered
withanabundanceof rocksis goingto
attractanyonewithaninterestin landscape
photography,butthrowin a backdropof
thestaggeringlydramaticCuillinRidge,
andtheplacebecomesa bucket-list
destination.Forthisreasontheareawithin
200 metresfromthepiercangetcrowded
andis alwaysa popularspotforworkshops.
Thebeachheadsnorthfromthelittlecar
parktowardsa yellowoverhangingcliff,
afterwhichit bendsright.Themajorityof
theinterestingrockscanbefoundhere,
buttakeyourtimetoexplore,andtryto
anticipatenewcompositionsasthetide
graduallymovesin orout.
Elgolisn’tjusta one-trickpony.The
clifftopssouthof theharbouroffera nice
vistaacrossLochScavaig,orfollowthe
pathsouthof thevillageandyouwillfinda
muchquietershorewithsomeinteresting
rocksandthatsamedramaticbackdrop.Polariserfilter

a polarisertoreduceglareand
enablethecameratoseedetails
beneaththesurface.Tripod
I liketoplaywith

lengthswhenatthe

capturemotion
in thewater.
It wouldbe
impossible
toholda
camerasteadyforthislengthof
