Stitcher’s guide
Our beautiful butterfly
designs are stitched onto
14-count white aida and
a 14-count aida band and
contain whole cross stitch,
backstitch, fractionals and
French knots. They're ideal
for intermediate stitchers
or confident beginners
who are ready to expand

1
Find the centre of your
fabric by folding it in half
both horizontally and vertically.
Follow the arrows on the chart
to find its centre and start
stitching here.
2
Work all of the cross stitch
first using two strands of
cotton. Where you see a tiny
symbol on the chart, work a
fractional stitch in its place.
3
Add the backstitch using
one strand of cotton; three
different colours are used for
the backstitch, so refer to the
key to make sure you are always
working correctly.
4
Work the French knots last
of all, using one strand
of cotton. Carefully check
over your finished work, then
prepare it for making up.
