Trim your stitched piece with a
1cm (½in) border. Fold the hems

on all four sides of each piece.

Attach the larger front panel to
one of the inside panels using

whip stitch, starting with the top


corner to make sure your stitches


line up correctly. Repeat again for


the other inside panel. Don’t worry



  • there is a deliberate gap on the
    inside of the needlecase to make
    room for the felt inner leaf.

Cut the felt so that it is slightly
smaller than the height of the
needlecase and quite a bit smaller
than its width. Attach the felt sheet
to the cover by stitching all the layers
together down the spine.
